Please answer, School survey Thank You!?
If a cable company could offer you a 1 week viewing of new movies during their opening week in theaters would you pay an extra fee for that option, if so how much?
Please include your age, gender, family size/single
Thank you very much!

I am going to say NO, and also give you a reason why I say this.

Going out to a movie is different than staying-in to watch it on cable. There are pros and cons to going out to a movie.

The pros are, (1) you get out of the house, (2) you usually eat out, (3) you usually do some window shopping before the movie, (4) the theater experience is usually better.

The cons are, (1) you sometimes have to wait in line, (2) some gun with a ten inch afro sits in front of you in the theater, (3) some 10 year old kid is kicking the back of your chair, (4) some lady is sitting two rows back starts singing to the songs in the movie (5) you sit on some chewing gum and it sticks to your new dress pants.

Depending how much that fee was...yeah I'd take it. I have a 5 yr old at home who doesn't sit very well in theaters for long periods of time and two teenagers who don't take anything seriously and want to talk and goof around in the theaters so if I get fortunate enough to stay at home and watch a movie in the comfort of my own home without aggrevating other people around me and run the risk of getting booted out of the movie theater and losing at least $50.00 then I'm all for it! As for what I'd be willing to pay I guess it would have to be at least less than I would pay to take us all to the movies and whether or not I had the option to watch to movie more than once...pay per view movies run about $4.00 (I think?) a movie for 24 hrs whereas specials like boxing or what not can run you in the $49.95 range...so it depends on how long I'm going to be able to watch a specific movie...

I don't really understand the question. Are you saying that, if my cable co. gave me a week to view a new movie (say, Spiderman 3, for example) on my home television, would I pay to see it?

Are you implying that this would be some sort of "service" via a monthly fee? I guess I'm a little confused as to where you actually watch the movie - at home, or in the theater?

Anyway, assuming its at home, with a monthly membership fee, I personally would not pay. Why wouldn't I just go to the theater? Screen's larger, better graphics, sound, etc. Then again, I'm also a wait-til-the-dvd-comes-out type of guy.

If I WERE to pay a monthly fee, it would have to be less than actually going to the theater. Plus, how many movies could you watch? And what if two months come and go with a bunch of sucky movies out? Well, I'd probably pay what you can pay already for OnDemand service - $4 or $5 a movie if I really wanted to see it.
