Here are some great inexpensive ways to market your industry:
Vehicle lettering or magnets.
Business Cards - PROFESSIONALLY done.
Make flyers that have a special promotions for new clients and then take them to surrounding businesses and offer to pass out their coupons/promos if they will let you put yours in the shops.
Join a networking group - building relationships that will generate great word of mouth marketing is key - because that is ALWAYS FREE!
Hook up w/ local bridal businesses and offer a free manicure or set of acrylics for a bride - hold a drawing and you'll get names you can then market to as well - offer the non-winners a 50% discount or $10 off any service.
Tell current clients (or friends and family) that they can receive a discount every time they refer 3 people. |

I love doing my nails, the best way to advertise is to offer free manicures for example, you can go to an event "festival" or to a very high foot traffic area and offer manicures and pedicures for very low to free. You will then start booking business and word of mouth is your best ad. Remember that customer service is the best presentation card. Dress very professional, wear make up, a neat person is nice to have work done by, offer your clients wine or coffee while you do work on them and they will come back to you. |

a good start is by setting up a website, using miscrosoft small business for example.
then maybe start advertising on free online classifieds like craigslist, kijiji and backpage.
if you have more of an advertising budget, advertise in the yellow pages and the local paper.

offer to give gift certificates to PTAs for raffles or silent auctions, offer referal discounts to your customers (ie. send me someone and I'll give you $5 off your next service, send me another and I'll give you a free whatever), buy an ad in a student newspaper (cheap) and offer $5 off or a student special. Post some flyers around college campuses. Of course, find out where you need to go to get permission, but girls are ALWAYS looking for ways to get the hair/nails done and save some cash. The usually have boards on the walls in some dorms where ppl post different info. Try that. |
