There are so many different ways! Besides on and off page SEO, the quickest way to drive traffic to your sites would be a Pay-Per-Click advertiser such as Google Adwords. Honestly, Yahoo's version of this usualy tends to be a lot cheaper than Google. You can also seek out the "free" traffic sites, but those are generally a big waste of your time!
Articles! Writing good, original articles is a great way to drive traffic to your site. There are several article directories out there like http://www.EzineArticles.Com that are excellant to submit to. I just found out that http://www.SellerSecrets.Com is also accepting articles again. Both sources are great for getting your info and links out there.

adwords is great, and getting publicity for your site really depends on your content. If you have a blog or news related site then you have tons of avenues for getting your content out there such as del.icou.us or digg.
