The thing you have to realize is you are probably already doing it, you just aren't getting paid yet.

Every time you tell someone about the great dinner you had and send them to the same restaurant, do you get a free dinner?

When you see a good movie and send your friend to see it, does the theater send you a check?

Well if they were involved in Network Marketing, they would.

And I'll tell you a secret, that stuff about running out of people is pure scare tactics, you aren't going to run out of people any more than a Chevrolet salesman is because there are so many dealerships. That's all you do in Network Marketing is set up another dealership like any other business. If you are good at what you do or use systems that work, you will move ahead of the lazy ones who don't perform and make more money, just like a car dealership. We had a Chevrolet dealership in my town just go broke, so does that mean the car business is at fault?

Sure 95% of those who try are going to fail, that's as it should be. Anyone who goes into a business without learning what to do should fail and that's exactly what most of them do. I don't worry about them taking my business away, would you?

Network marketing is recruiting your customers to help you do the selling and paying them commissions to do so -- the point being the more people you recruit, the more sales you will have and the more commissions you will earn.

The downside is that after a long time and a lot of people have already been recruited, further recruitment and selling dries up and so do the commissions. Also, the stream of commissions will probably make the price of the product very high.

Network marketing without a product is called a pyramid scheme. Such a scheme is illegal and is considered a scam.

You've had a few very good answers to your question, and perhaps some not quite so accurate. If I may, I would like to sum it up for you, as I have been involved with a network company for just over two yrs now. It is called "Forever Living Products". I worked fairly hard at it for the first 18 or so months, but I guess I either did not meet the correct people, or my marketing skills are very poor. Either way I am hanging in there and still making a go of it. I have done my required 4cc's every month, which one has to do in order to gain your "Rebate" or "Bonus Cheque". That means buying about €700 worth of products each month. I do use the products myself. I find them wonderful. I recommend them to a lot of people, most of whom ignore me. My latest monthly cheque was for about €179, but I do make money selling the products also. So after more than 2 yrs I am almost breaking even! To sum up what I'm doing is bringing in hard to get products, (as they are not available in shops) and I pass them on directly to the comsumer. I also teach other people how to do that. That is how the company expands. That is why they pay us.
Lately I have come accross another network marketing company. This one is well worth sitting up and hearing about. Again, it is about bringing in difficult to get products. This time because it is a very new product. It was realeased in USA only last November and has become available in Europe only 2 months ago. This one is going to take the world by storm. Basicaly it is one product only. It is a tablet. For cars, trucks, vans and motorbikes. You use two tablets for the first two fills of your tank, works equally well with petrol or diesel, and one tablet per fill thereafter. In my own car, which only ever gave me 260-290 to a tak full around town, or 300-310 on a long drive, I am now getting more than 400 miles+ to the tank. I also use it in my Harley Davidson, and am saving on that also. Well worth a look. If you want to know more about either of these companies you can e-mail me at frankwoodsflp@eircom.net or check up www.fuelxfrank.myffi.biz and www.aloedistributor.com I really hope I have been of some help yo you. Best of Irish luck.
Sorry for any miss-spells as I am a bit dislexic and my spell checker is not working.

Promotion and Sales done by network of people is called Network Marketing.
It is a real broad term however it is mouth to mouth promotion.

Hope this answer give you an idea.

I agree with BuddyGuru, and might add, it is called NETWORK marketing, NOT NOTWORK Marketing. Too many people are led into believing they can enroll in some company, NOT work and receive a commission. Sure... people at the top enjoy the benefits of those working on lower levels, but hey! they started somewhere to.

I have made money, good money, in just about every network marketing company I've enrolled with. First, I listened to the people who were making the money. Next, I advocated "systems" to build the business. You see, people don't duplicate; systems do. Lastly, stay committed. Too many people will try to steal your dreams - don't let them.

Network marketing is essentially using existing networks of friends and business associates to market your product or service. The way it works for them is that they recommend your product or service to their clients, then they get a cut of the new business generated for you. It's also sometimes referred to as referral marketing as it involves people referring people on to you for the product or service you offer.

For example, I'm a semi-professional musician and a friend of mine happens to know the owner of a live music venue. That person recommends my services to that owner, any money I get for the gig, I would give a small referral inscentive to the person who helped me get the gig. This keeps them loyal to me, and ensures they'll repeat the process. It also means if I use their product or service, I'm likely to refer them to my friends.

It's a way of selling without too much of the hard sell because you already have a bond of trust with the people you're dealing with and they will benefit as well. It's often worth thinking about investing in some sort of incentive scheme for your referers as this will ensure they feel valued and they don't suddenly decide someone else's service/ product is better than yours!

Hope this helps. If you want any more info on it, just mail me.

Are you looking to get into network marketing?

Neil
Most network marketing, unfortunately, involves the people at the bottom working hard selling unwanted goods to their friends and relatives until they give up having earned next to nothing, even losing money.

In the meantime the layers above them, who have hundreds of people doing the same thing, do very well thank you very much.

A bit like pyramid selling.
