Amber T | Shaklee and MLM MARKETING? |
How does MLM marketing work? I was thinking about becoming a shaklee distributor, but I couldn't find a sponsor who would answer all my questions & I can't get a full grasp of how MLM marketing works. I don't want to bother my friends and family. I want to know how to market to the "cold market" = everyone else. Besides marketing on websites mlm is hard for me to understand because 1 i have no loyalty to a certain brand 2. I never bought something from a catalog and 3. i never met someone that said, hey I found this new product try it here is my business card. So how does it work besides advertising in the news paper or on bulletin boards and random strangers? The only way i can think of it working is if you can get small business owners to market the products in there store. But the products are already expensive. If i was a retailer i would not market a product with only a 15% mark down. So how does this work? Who do you market too, How long does it take to build a downline? Additional Details Yea you didn't answer any of my questins |

Its tough, really tough. I have tried many different schemes with down lines, uplines, PV's, autoshipping and on and on. Decide what you would really love to do, I mean something your are really passionate about, and think of ways you could turn those into a job. I love pools, so I started a pool management company. 28 pools/week and I never look back. |

Instead of selling products sell : SERVICE.
Also choose revolving matrix plan instead of binary or closed loop. |

Dear Friend,
MLM stands for Multi-Level Marketing, and is a way of encouraging customers of a product to convince other people to buy the product. This is done by providing referral bonuses. If you refer a customer to the company, then you receive a portion of what they spend with the company.
The earning power of MLM is in the fact that not only do you get a portion of what your referrals spend, but you also get a portion of what their referrals spend. If you refer 10 people and they each refer 10 people, then you're getting a bonus for 100 people. This can add up.
MLM's Big Secret
Most people fail at MLM. The reason is simple...most MLM companies pay members by giving them a portion of what their referrals spend. This means that, at the bottom level, you have a huge number of people spending money and not making anything (or making very little), to support a relatively few number of people at the top.
Picture a human pyramid, with the person at the top smiling and waving for the crowd, and the people at the bottom sweating with the effort of holding everyone else up.
The only way for MLM to be successful for all members is if all the members make money instead of spending money.
An MLM That Works
There's an MLM company that does just that, where every member makes money and no members spend money. The basic idea is that you run a toolbar on your computer that displays advertistments targeted at the content on websites you visit. You're providing a space for running ads, and now and then you might see something you like and buy it. In return, you get a portion of the profits. Note that these profits are paid by advertising companies, not by other members!
The MLM nature of the company is that you can refer others and receive a slighly larger portion of the profits than someone that hasn't referred anyone. The more people you refer, the higher your portion of the profits.
This is not a get rich quick scheme, by any stretch. After all, the more members, the more ways to divide the profits. But, if you go into it thinking that you can earn some money doing what you're already doing (surfing the web), then you can wait out the initial periods where the payouts will be small. And if you refer a few people while you're doing it, you'll be in better shape later, as profits rise.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU TAKE ANOTHER STEP
some suggestions of on line work will be scams......before considering any on line job
take note of the following precautionary advice :-
Get onto a Search Engine eg. http://yahoo.com and type in the search text box (Note use double quotes) “is (such and such URL) a scam”. If you get some results, click on a few of them to see what people are saying about the business. If a lot of the comments are bad then it is a warning sign to stay away from that work at home site.
Remember
1. Some people are very petty, so you must consider the statements made before listing the company as bad.
2. Some do not read the fine print when signing up or do not fully understand the concept therefore when a problem arises they complain loud and long.
3. Many of these companies have hundred of thousands of clients but have only a few complaints.
4. Make considered judgements.
Always check on line jobs with the databases at http://onlineworkassistant.tk/
and, any other data bases of this type you can find, or Home Business forums before even considering any on line job:-
The first data base has the basic information that any prospective employee or entrepreneur should know
and the FREE Training which is available is invaluable
On http://onlineworkassistant.tk/ are also some FREE advertising sites that might be useful to you
…. I wish you every success

MLM is traditionally set up to tap into peoples warm market. This provides the distributor a marketing tactic that is low budget and in their terms easy to replicate. With this in mind it is necessary to continue to recruit again and again so you can get into the warm market of others. For a strong few these tactics work.
Amber, you are not alone. Some statistics would support that 97% of people in mlm feel the same way.
There are alternative ways to market both your MLM opportunity and your product. Some purchase leads (not recommended by me).
I found an ebook that helped me to learn online and offline marketing tactics to attract people to me. The book was free and I would be happy to forward it on to you.
I also found an amazing web host to assist me in designing a website to share information about my product. I have enjoyed the people who contact me and give me feedback.
Quite the opposite feeling of hassling friends and family.
I hope this helps!
BEST WISHES! |

Shaklee is a great company. There products are great and as you use them you will talk about them. I use the makeup, the Get Clean products and am ordering the Vita Lea vitamins for my family this week.
MLM works by talking about your products in normal conversation, not badgering anyone, not telling your family and friends they have to, but more just talking about how you didn't think it would get xxxx clean and you are amazed at how well it did. MLM is building a team and you get paid off of what is called your Group PV (product volume) With Shaklee you also get paid $50 each time you sign up someone with Gold AMbassador which is the best way to get in. You have your choice of product pak but get most of hte products in that line.
With Shaklee the GA program is $299 and it makes you eligible to sell in all our countries. We are gettting ready to open in China soon. Already have Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, Canada, USA and Mexico
We belong to a great team and we have prospecting chats and our own team training site. I'd love for you to talk to our team leader and he can answer any questions you have about MLM.
My upline has just reached the second phase and she has done it all thru her groups and forums online. Just presenting the business opportunity and training the teammembers she has gotten..
When you are online you in your groups, emails and forums you can usually get people interested just form your signature line. This is a couple lines about your company or product and the website. With shaklee you can pick the name as mine is http://shaklee.net/naturalngreen.
I don't beleive we can sell our products in stores so there's no worry about markups. Our products are very competively priced when pricing apples for apples.
We have been on Oprah for our Get Clean products as part of her Favorite things, Dr Oz's natural products and a few other times last year. And once this year already. We are in the news all the time Parents Magzine , and a few others You can see them from the In the News links.
There are no definites on how long it takes to build. Depends on how many people you talk to online and offline, how many hours a week you put into it and how you decide to do it. You get to decide who you get to market to. We can help you clarifiy what you want to do. What do you want to do, market the biz opp or sell products or both? We can help you to do it.
You build brand loyalty by using the products yourself You can't sell a product you don't know how it works. Our products are safe for pets and children too. When you use our products to clean you'll be surprised how much cleaner things are and I know for me I can now clean the bathroom wihtout opening a window. And with testimonies like that it's how you sell the product.
WE can do a chat just with you on Yahoo and can answer all your questions. Weekday evenings around 8 pm Eastern are good times.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

My advice is that you should avoid MLM all together. It's a waste of your time, money and energy. You will also lose your friends, family and money.
I have an uncle who actually gave up a great job as a public school teacher to get involved in MLM fulltime. This was the biggest mistake that he ever made in his life. Now, he's broke and in his sixties. If he would have stayed a teacher he'd be enjoying a very comfortable retirement right now. (He was also a great salesman and he wasn't able to make any money in MLM.)
Only the people at the very top of the pyramid make any money at MLM. They make money by making everyone else buy motivational materials (books and tapes) and going to motivational seminars.
MLM is like a cult. The followers are not allowed to question the leaders.
I think you could do a lot better doing just about anything else beside MLM. If you got a part-time job that paid minimum wage you would earn more than you could make being involved in MLM. It's just a horrible business. They take advantage of everyone.
The largest MLM used to be called Amway. Amway had to change it's name because everyone was calling it Scamway. It costs a fortune for a company to change it's name.
Go to http://www.ripoffreport.com if you want to check out any specific MLM companies.
Good luck. |
