There are numerous webhosts and sites that will sell you a domain as well as hosting for your site. You will need both a domain and a host (unless you plan to run your own server and that in itself is another question).
A few hosting sites that I recommend are:
www.godaddy.com
http://www.doteasy.com
www.lunarpages.com
You can also use these to find more sites if you dont like the two I suggest:
www.findmyhosting.com
www.tophosts.com
Here is a list of reviews for some free hosting sites:

Once you choose a hosting company, when you go through the process of purchasing hosting they should also ask if you currently have a domain (As they will need this information in order to get your hosting set up) and if not then offer you one. Most will offer the domain with the hosting package, this will vary depending on who you choose.
You can also choose to purchase the domain separately before the hosting.
Now once you have both a domain and a place to host your website you will need an FTP program so you can get your files onto your website! Some of the hosting companies have a built in FTP within their package.. you will need to research this to see if its something you will need, or get a program such as CuteFTP(have to pay for) or Filezilla (which is free).

first I one to emphasize one thing that most people make mistake when building their sites especially when its a business website. do you know that most website don't ever get more than 100 unique visitor even after 1 year. traffic to your site translate your site success. so you need traffic knowledge before you even start building a site or pick a domain name. so if you need my recommendation based on my experience check out below resources and then check out the comparison section. that knowledge alone would tell you something very important. hope that helps a bit.

You can buy your own domain name from any web host. I buy mine at Hostgator (link below). However, before you buy you need to think of Search Engine Optimization. (SEO) If you want your page to rank high in the search engines, you need to choose your domain name based on the top keywords you want to target. If your name has your keywords in it, it stands a higher chance to get to the top 10 in the search engines.
I hope this helps.

You're on it! Yahoo is the best for small business startups and I should know, I've tested 3 sites with them;P)
Plus you can get your domain name, get a site builder that walks you step-by-step through creating your site (it's easy to change your mind mid-way through making your site too) and the setup takes about 24 hours all together.
Yes, it's reasonable. And if a site is too much, you can make a simple blog and update it as often as you want.
