I asked this question before. Do you have any suggestions for selling pre-need funeral services and cemetery. Most people do not like to deal with this subject. I am looking for out of the box thinking. I am not desperate for suggestions, I just know this is a big forum and am looking for ideas that I would not think of.

You will want to focus on the customer wants and develop them into needs. The best way to do this is to make a focus on family values.
Find a way to show togetherness even in death. How a whole line of generation can be brought together, even in death. A whole family plot, of caring for their needs through generation heritage and values.
Basically, market family values, the way to be remembered and secure the family in the future ... even in the unthinkable.
Putting these values and conveying them properly into marketing material as well as advertisements is what i am suggesting.
Whole family plots can be sold this way. "Morbid Marketing", I should start a service, ha ha ha. |

for all the things you going to deal with why this things ? but its ok ...... you know its a good idea to think about that now, even where not their in the situation that we need it already .....cause we dont know when are we going to die so much better if we think about that as long as we have time, better if we dont give any problem to our family if we are die already no need to think when and what they going to do if we die cause we have our own funeral services already |

No one likes to be sold.
You've got to tune into their station-WIIFM (What's In It For Me)
Have them do the math & hit them with the hard numbers.
Bring them to the point of considering that overall there is a HUGE population (BabyBoomers) on the horizon to be taking up valuable plots,timed services, and so on.
This will put a tremendous burden of pressure on those trying to deal with last minute preparations, not to mention the increased $$s added to the overall frustrations.
Tell them to be proactive in this department of their lives- They won't regret it ! |

Are you a licensed funeral director? Because unless you are, you shouldn't be selling pre-need services. In my humble opinion, it should be a federal law that one must be a licensed FD to sell pre-need services. No offense, but pre-need should be left to the licensed professionals. |

I have sold pre-need for many years and have trained pre-need salespeople as well as funeral directors. I have been a featured speaker at funeral and cemetery conventions and I must disagree with Reagan. There is no advantage to being a funeral director when selling pre-need. It takes a completely different set of skills and knowledge. Most directors (but not all) are lousy at pre-need planning. They don't want to take a professional interest in the financial side of it. They don't understand all the different insurance and bank trust options and they don't understand how to project future inflation. They are not marketing people and they usually don't want to keep database records of prospects. |
