Tricks to get crazy kids to bed when babysitting?
Kids are 6 and 8
Boy - 6
Girl - 8
I want to know some sneaky, not mean or rude tricks to get kids to bed on time without making them hate you. I no reading or telling stories helps but what else works to help them calm down? Additional Details And what are some ways to tirer them out before.
They do have a pool that the parent said we could use.
Socialize with them. Try to know their likes and dislikes so that the kids will like you more. If you know their likes and dislikes, do all the things they like and try not to do the things they dislike.

Well, if you babysit often tell them that if they go to bed like good kids tonight then you'll let them stay up a little later next time.
Or try telling them to grab their favorite toy and then can sleep with it.
And you could try the "time game". It is when you run around, cleaning everything up(try blasting some kids music) and whoever cleans up the fastest gets to watch another half-a-hour long show with you, maybe in the living room with you.
And try telling the girl that if she gets the boy to sleep then she can stay up a little later with you. She'll most likely pass out =]

Don't get them all worked up shortly before bedtime-Like no wrestling or running around. Pop a movie in or do something else that helps them relax. Good Luck!

turn off every thing that's fun : tv .video games and don't let them turn them back on , and if they're keep playing take one to another room to sleep eventually they'll get bored and go to sleep that's what i do

tell them they need heir energ for all day tomorrow, and wink. sure it might be mean but if they think there will be something the next day on it will work to get them to bed, otherwise warm milk and cookies, stories or movie with lights out to calm them down for a bit.
Laurie
Give them a warm glass of milk. Sit in the room with them and quietly read a story in dim lighting. Tell them when the story is over they must go to sleep.
