Of course they do. It is called "target marketing" and often times depends on demographics. (who, what age group, etc. would use the product.) Then market it wherever the market research says the most buyers in the demographic profile are. Often will be released at most profitable time for the particular product. (christmas?) Or how long they want to let the hype about the product run before the launch in order to build excitement so it will take off like a rocket. |

This would be FALSE. Of course these changes have an impact - the fact that you see rolling web ads when you entered this question to begin with is an example of exactly what you are asking about. Someone else answered correctly and called it "Target Marketing" - spot on. There are hundreds of companies dedicated to simply mining through all of your web clicks to try and figure out exactly what products and services you are interesting in. Google, Yahoo! and others sell this information to marketers - and while it may not have your personal information in it, it certainly tells marketers who the most popular celebrities are, what products receive the most attention, what stories get the most web hits, etc. etc. etc.
The technology changes daily and the application of those technologies has to change nearly as rapidly.
Now stop asking homework questions to the masses - and go research for yourself...:-) |

Technology dictates what how and when products are to be marketed in today's society. Technology allows us the ability to collect more data and discern better demographics to address specific audiences. A good point is the internet itself. The marketing strategies used on-line were created specifically for the on-line environment things such as pop-ups, spam, etc... all came about as a result of technological innovations that presented new oportunities for the marketing industry. |

Technology has changed so many things, we now have video billboards, picture and video cell phones. Without all our technology we would be putting all our ads in the newspaper instead of ebay, craigslist & so on and so on. I guess its good but I just don't want a satelite catching me in the hottub in my birthday suit. |
