Bonanza | WALLMART SCAM....Has anyone been taken in by this scam??Read on.? |
You know how stores etc tell you "your personal information is confidential or we do not sell your information to anyone". Well for some reason I didnt believe that. So one time when I went to get my film developed at Wall Mart, I put in a last name of Mr.GAD(part of my BF's name) and gave the correct phone number. Over the past 10 months I get between 3 to 6 calls every week, asking if Mr. Gad is home, or if they could speak to the home owner Mr.GAD. You know everything from selling loans to vacations to new windows..the usuall drill. I wonder if others have had simmilar experiences??
Who can we complain to? |

Walmart has lost approx. 125 million dollars in lawsuits this last year. They are having major problems.
Get a lawyer and sue them. Try to find other people who this has happened to as well and go after a civil suit.
Good Luck |

I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN AND I HAVE HUNDREDS OF PICTURES I HAVE HAD DEVELPOED AT WAL-MART. YOU CAN COMPLAIN TO THE STORE MAMNAGER ANYTIME THE STORE IS OPEN AND I BET YOU HE WILL LISTEN AND TAKE CARE OF IT IF THIS HAPPENED FROM WAL=MART. YOU CAN ALSO REGISTER YOUR PHONE NUMBER WITH THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LIST AND ITS STOPS ALL OT THOSE ANOYING CALLS |

Unfortunately, they didn't sell your information to a third party. I disagree with other posters - sueing them will get you nowhere, is a completely waste of time, waste of resources, and waste of money.
Get on the no call list. I dont even think talking to the manger is worth your time - most of them have little authority to make change once their corporate headquarters starts calling you. |

Wal-Mart lying to consumers? NO! Couldn't be! Wal-Mart? The scions of economic responsibilty and good corporate citizenship? Using your personal information for telemarketing purposes? That could NEVER happen!
Yeah, OK, so my feigned shock is wearing a little thin. So is my patience with Wal-Mart. However, this may not be a scam. If Wal-Mart is trying to market something to you, they have not sold your info to a third party and are using info you gave them to market to you, their customer (which is, generally speaking, legal in most states and provinces). Another possibility is that they are conducting marketing research, which is another legal use of your personal info. Or, they may have sold your info to "Cheap-Crapomatic Inc.", if you follow my meaning. Either way, I don't think you're gonna get anywhere with this. Wal-Mart has more money than God and more pull in the US economy than Saudi Arabia, so it's unlikely that your unsubstantiated "sting" (as smart as it was) will get you anywhere. The best way to avoid having Wal-Mart sell your personal info is not to give it to them.
Better yet: don't shop there.
Hope this helps. |

you put your self on the do not call list, then write wallmart a letter and complain.. the do not call list is on line .... I am not sure of the email address,,, also if you like your film at wallmart do not put it in the film that leaves the store... I lost some of my best photos... keep it in wallmart. they said that way .. its easy to find if lost... |
