Buy cheap, sell cheap, hire cheap, market cheap, buy cheap property, build cheap store buildings, insist on employees smiling at customers and being as helpful as possible. Except near Houston, TX, where you try upscale store.
Why try upscale? The Chinese are coming. They're even cheaper and they don't have to pay the Walton clan anything! |

Essentially, they move into smaller towns. They then price all their goods so low that there's no way the locally owned businesses can compete. The local businesses go under and wal-mart puts their prices back to normal. Oh, and they have awful practices when it comes to their suppliers as well. |

They pinch their suppliers for every penny, with the threat that if they dont lower their prices, they will go else where.
Does anyone remember when Wal-Mart's slogan was "Made in America means something". They don't, as they import cheap goods from 3rd world countries.
Also, they provide low pay, and hire "part timers" so they dont have to pay benefits. |
