Im starting my own business out of my home as a Daycare Provider. I can only start off night-shifts and then within a couple of months I will be expanding to day-shift as well. I need to advertise to get clients, What is the best way to market myself? I figured I would make flyers with those little tabs to pull of with my name and number and place those in buisnesses that are open 24/7, and grocery stores and libraries and such. Basically, can you give me some tips on how to draw attention to the flyer and seem professional. I know it's just a daycare but I need to address it as a buisness first if I want to succeed, It's somthing I want to do for the long-run. Also any advice on running a successful business? Thanks so much for the help! |

Here's a couple of ideas...1. Create your own website 2. Put your add on the classifieds 3. Advertise online that way you come up when people search for daycare providers 4. Network, talk to family and friends and tell them to spread the word... Good Luck and just remember that having your own business is tough, but rewarding in the long run.. |

You may create your small web-site (even one-page), and include an address of the site to your flyers.
When you post ads at free or paid classifieds sites, add your site address if it's allowed |

You will need your first load of clients to help you spread the words. Besides keeping the price low which is a must, try passing out fliers, since it's a neighborhood business, that should be one of the most effective ways of promoting the business. Don't bother with creating a website. I am sure the parents would want to get a person-person relationship rather than a virtual relationship. If you're able to get your first set of clients. Carry out your business for a month or so with those clients. Let them see how dependable your daycare is. Always survey parents for their opinions and comments. Finally, host a party and have the parents bring guests. That should do it.

flyers r a great idea! and maybe an ad in the paper....and to draw attention to the flyer and make it professional...use word art and put attention grabbing questions like "would you like to get your kids off ur hands for a while?", "are you a full-time worker but can't leave your kids at home by themselves?", "are you going to a special event and you can't bring your kids?" , also use persuasive words and make yourself stand out from other day care services by telling them why they should choose ur day care from all the other day cares( maybe ur cheaper? maybe ur open more hours?)..also mayb add some clip art ..and hang up the flyers in places that many moms go to
