We are starting with <$3000 to cover products, set up costs, operating costs, and distribution. We need to advertise, but don't know if website advertising really is worth the cost. How many customers does it bring? I personally do my best to ignore those things (pop-ups, banners, etc.) but do they work? What do you think? If not, what's the best way to advertise on a very limited budget? Thanks for your input. |

Its deffinitely worth it. If you do target advertising you will find it the best advertising. Just with SEO designed web site you can drive lots of traffic to your web site. These are things to do to get the best of it:
1- Design SEO designed web site. Its important to know your keywords before you start your web design. Your design and your content and your links should be based on your keywords analysis
2- Make sure you are checking your competitors web sites. Their web site are always good to check and find your selling point and your advantage to them to make you different
3- one your web site been designed start strategic link building. It can be links from article web sites or press or directories. Do one way link and avoid to do link exchange with irrelevant web sites
4- have strategic pay per click with yahoo and google adwords. Use google professionals as they know how to setup your camaign and landing pages to improve your return of investment
5- Advertise in social web sites such as facebook and myspace and ... Social web sites are the second most driving traffic source after search engines.
6- make sure to ask your customers to write feedback and reviews even record videos from them.

well just make sure you spend your money well;
start with submitting to http://www.night-directory.com, its great especially because you can get up to 5 links linking to your site.
Also try forums, sites like digg and article submission.

Hi there if you're just starting out, i would suggest using these ad sources, just to test the waters, before committing more money into advertising. And yes website advertising is worth the cost, if you know what you're doing, and don't advertise in places where your ads will be ineffective.
