Using free 'build your own website' software is the stupidest thing that a business could ever do. Get it done properly by a professional for goodness sake.
There's so many reasons why not to go that route as a business i don't know where to start. |

Start building a website on a free web hosting service. This is a great place to learn the basics. Some hosts offer pre-designed templates, others just let you code it directly. Go to your local book store and look for a"for dummies" series book,or other web programming books for beginners. |

Have a look at web designers existing customers sites. Ask them to give you a paper design for the Home page and go from there.
If you want to get a brilliant website that will attract millions of visitors for FREE........forget it!
Just think about this logically. How big is the world wide web? Why would anyone want to visit your website about parenting?
Google "parenting" and have a looik round.
Actually I have just done that . How many results do youy think I got? 95,000,000!

I'm not sure if you've had any experience in HTML, PHP, Java, Javascript, etc.
Assuming you haven't, try a free hosting service with newby tools first, then upgrade to your domain name (www.yourname.com) when you're happy with it.

Learning HTML would be the best start, (it is extremely easy to be honest), but I guess some people don't like to bother with code. There are website builders out there for you that transform something you make in an "easy builder" into HTML, but you'd probably be better off just learning.
