We have a website that needs some updates. Our website person is no longer in the business. Can someone recommend a web designer that could help us make changes/upgrades to our website?

Have you tried joining some of those communities such as freelance.com and elance.com?

The only reason why I suggest those is because those types of communities actually rate individuals on a variety of credentials. You will be able to have them price wars for your business, not to mention that you can research there past efforts for others in the communities and make a decision in that aspect.

I am not saying don't contact individuals who advertise in yahoo answers, yahoo groups, myspace, etc. I am just saying that it may be a little bit safer to go to the community websites where these business professionals actually make their living and have done business with others.
