Website Promotion HELP?

I have recently launched an Online Travel Business for customers within the UK and I would like any advice as to how I can get my website viewed by as many people as possible within the British Isles?

I employ an Internet company who promote my site,ie to get it noticed on Google but as you may all know the holiday market has massive competition! Some family have passed on my link to everyone in their email address book and hopefully some will pass it on from there but any ideas would be great preferably FREE!

As a footnote,this site has been indexed by google and is being recognised but I am just looking to find another way of the site being found for eg by a millions of people!!

Well using search engine to promote your website is a very effective method.Majority of the traffic/visitors from search engine.Well that's not enough.Maybe I can share with you some of my experience.
These are my time-proven methods to ADVERTISE my website for FREE
1)Viral Pictures
Viral is closely connected with something that may spread easily.So i suggest you to create a viral picture which is closely connected with your products and spread it.
Everyone likes funny pictures and they don't mind sharing it with others.It's viral.So, If you're selling a health product, then you may create a funny picture about it and put your website's name on it.
Next, just forward it to as many contacts as possible using e-mails. Whether it's a 12 years old kid or 21 years old adult.They would just love and share it with others. Can you see how easy it is?

2)Viral Videos
Videos are the most famous entertainment on the Internet.People would just love it dues to it's effectivenes in spreading the message. So i suggest you to create viral videos about your product and again put your link in it.
If you got 3 minutes video, then make sure your website's link is visible throughout the whole 3 minutes.If you don't have the necessary tools to create a video, then you can simply collect 5-10 viral pictures and then convert it into video using Windows Movie Maker.
Then just upload it to You Tube or Google Videos. Now using bluetooth everyone is exchanging videos from their mobiles or computers. If your video is viral enough to attract others, it will easily spread to others.

3)Yahoo Answers
I probably won't be answering your question if i don't know the answer. And i won't suggest you any websites link if i think that it's not going to help you.
So simply answer any questions that you're knowledgeable(your niche market) at and put a link to your websites as extra source for others.
If your answer is good and solved the questions, people would also expect for more tips and suggestion from you.If you suggested any website links, there are high chances for anyone to visit it.

4)Forum Marketing
Forum Marketing works just like Yahoo Answers. They would be a lot of tips and questions exchanged in any forums.
So start getting active and contribute to any forum members and they will appreciate your expertise and start visiting your websites for more up-to-date tips.

Unfortunately getting listed on the search engines can be quite a slow process, taking a few weeks to get on to some of the major search engines. You will need to submit your website address (URL) to the search engines using pages like these:

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies). One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals. These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info. I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

Time to do some BUM marketing: Free marketing

Here are 5 methods you should start using:

Article Marketing: Write informative articles about topics that fit your business and submit them to article directories. The articles will be indexed by search engines and other site owners can use them on their sites. They will have to include a link to your site in order to use the articles.

Squidoo: Allows you to build one page sites called lenses. You can talk about whatever you want. The search engines love these sites. In addition people can rank your pages and you can link them to your travel site.

Social marketing: Myspace, Facebook, Humanpets. These sites have large communities of people that have come together to socialize and share information. You may be able to find some communities that are for people in the British Isles. Become a member and participate in the community.

Forum Marketing: find forums on travel and respond to questions. Just like i am doing now.

Videos: Video is huge now. The search engines put a premium on video content. Create video's and submit them to youtube and other sites. Travel video's, customers talking about vacations you did for them would be really good.
