Your site is a lot better than I thought it would be but you have to convince people that you know what you're talking about and you're obviously not doing that.
Create more compelling content on your site. Make more of your newsletter - what free guide can you offer to incentivise people to subscribe?
And improve the design so that it looks even more professional than it does now. Diabetes type sites are classic 'spam' sites dare I say - convince a visitor that this is the real deal and not some adsense-infested attempt for you to make money any which way you can (sorry - but that's what a lot of people suspect with health-sites these days).
Also, if you are qualified to sell this product explain why on the homepage
As I said, your site looks a lot better than I thought it would. Keep going. (And maybe find a better online forum for guidance than Yahoo! Answers - all sorts of unqualified people lurk here, don't you know! Lol) |

1. It's too expensive at $189
2. You claim there is a "certified nutritionist" how the hell I'm supposed to know if that is correct? Remember it's the Internet and you have more convincing more to do.
3. Do you actually sell pills? Medicine? "Concrete" products? I don't think so. Just another guidebook and training on preventing diabetes will not make people part with their cash.
IF YOU DON'T HIT THE RIGHT CONCEPT, YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT THE SALES
If I had to buy products, I would go to a website like this
http://shop.menshealth.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?langId=-1&catalogId=10004&storeId=10053
Just compare this website to your own to see where you're lacking |

I've looked at your website and to be honest it's not exactly very eyecatching. You should make it more interesting and that way people who view it will be more interested in purchasing goods from it. |

Very poorly designed. I just checked it using my old laptop with a 800 x 600 screen resolution and your website doesn't re-size to fit my screen. In fact part of the left hand side is cut off and I can't even read it. It does not allow me to scroll sideways to see that part. People who visit your site probably leave immediately if they have the same problems I did. |

Is there a market for this? I am in the UK and would never buy anything of this sort from the internet - especially anything that has funny orange stars saying "guaranteed"!
Hopefully you know the US market much better than I do - but possibly a reason you aren't getting sales is that nobody wants the product as you position it?
What are you actually selling? $189 for a book, three conversations with a nutritionist and a plan - that sounds expensive to me, and lacking in substance.
If there is a market out there, perhaps you need to be more targeted in your marketing - whats your key demographic?
Just because you can make a website, doesn't mean you can create demand... |

Certified Nutritionist means nothing to me. Also your site is very short on content. You need at least 30/40 pages so that people have plenty to interest them and to get them to stay on your site and then hopefully make a purchase.
I can only repeat Certified Nutritionist?????? I think you need to come up with something more definite and substantial.
Hope this helps. |

A web site is purely a shop window for products or services, what you will have to try is to make it more of a marketing tool.
Marketing is all about showing prospective customers the benefits which they will get from your product.
I personally know nothing about Diabetes other than that if you have it you have to inject insulin. Perhaps if you talked a bit about the disease and how it affects people ( even to create an amount of fear) then you can show people how your programme can ensure that they should never have to suffer from the disease.
Always show people how they can benefit from whatever you have on a site. A fear of loss is a great motivating factor and Diabetes can cause a certain loss of freedom.
I am not a marketing expert but hope this might give you something to think about. |
