They've both done lots of famous pr stunts.
I think it was madmedia who made a hologram of a woman, so that when you were walking past the clothes shop window it looked like she was getting undressed and trying on clothes in the middle of the floor!
Obviously the Tetley campaign with monkey is being talked about a lot at the moment too.

What about when XFM Manchester launched and they had hundreds of people shaking maraccas in the centre of manchester with Bez - it broke a world record!
Or Juice FM in Liverpool - they got an old lady to walk the streets of liverpool giving out £5 notes - everyone was talking about her, the local press wanted to speak to her, tv etc. Juice FM had hired in an actor to do it - got great national press |

Peroni rented a store front in Sloane St in Knightsbridge where you have Channel and Prada etc. The decided to have just one bottle of peroni in the middle of the store in a glass refridgerated box. The store was branded Peroni and was about positioning them as a luxury brand - this happened just before a full brand re launch.

I work at a radio station in Greenville, SC. Recently, a man was seen on a busy street during rush hour holding a huge sign in front of him that said "My name is Mike. I cheated on my wife. This is my punishment." The tv stations in town all came out to shoot video of Mike for their evening news shows. Nobody could get Mike to speak to them...he never said a word.

The next day, Mike called in to the radio station to say that he wanted to do an interview LIVE on the air with our radio station. He said it was the next phase in his punishment...to go on air and be humiliated. Of course, the radio station called all the TV stations and told them we had this exclusive interview. They all showed up and had cameras rolling when the interview began. Of course, we'd made sure the station logo was all over the studio.
The TV stations all ran the story...with the video...giving all the credit to our radio station. One even put the video online along with a viewer poll asking if they thought the punishment fit the crime.
I wonder what would happen if the TV stations found out that "MIKE" was actually our new Promotions Director, and the whole thing was a publicity stunt to get our stations logo all over the evening news??? |
