What would be the best day to advertise in the local paper? On Wednesday, everyone here gets the local paper for free and on Saturdays, it's subscribers only. Which day would get the most response. (Same ad) Thank you for your time. |

Good question. Everyone likes something free. However, consider the fact that on a Wednesday, many people have to work the next day and might not take time to call about ads in the paper. They'll be too busy or tired after getting home from work. By the time the weekend rolls around and they have time to make calls on ads, the paper received on Wed. might've gotten lost, trashed, or used in the litter box. Something else to consider: I don't know about yours, but in my town, the weekend is when the retail sales flyers and coupons get thrown into the paper. (Some people actually by them just the get the coupons). I'd go with the Saturday one. |

Try Wed. since everyone gets the paper for free. You will have more people reading the paper,and hopefully more responses. |

I would still say Saturday, because more people will buy the Saturday paper for the features like the TV guide and the comics. People who get the paper for free don't necessarily read it, where as someone who pays for the paper is more likely to read the whole thing. |

well for your area i would say wednesday since it's free more people are going to be looking at it. if it is anything like my town, there are more people not subscribing to the paper than there is subscribers. plus most people who subscribe are going to see it anyways, but the people who don't won't get to see it at all if it is posted on a day where it is subscribers only. wish you luck! |
