The customer needs are to secure the right product at the right price at the right time. An example would be a customer who has a need for a product or service with a specific budget and needs to have the fulfillment within a time frame that your company can meet or beat. |

Customer needs are split into two types: explicit and implied
An explicit need is if they request a product or a service or if you as a company state a level of service that can be expected.
An implied need is one that adds value to the customer service interaction such as providing a sewrvice that is polite, helpful, friendly etc. |

Customer needs can also be broken down into emotional and functional needs.
Every product and service can some how tie to emotional needs at a higher state. eg I drink Gatorade because I want to perform like Michael Jordon or I want to be able to run a marathon.
Functional is more like...I bought Samsung cell phone because of it's slim design. |

Advertising says: You need X.
Consumer says: I need X.
Customer (or consumer) needs go beyond the basic 5 needs (food, air, water, shelter, pursuit of happiness, or whatever). |
