What are creative and effective ways to fundraise?
I am starting fund-raising and collection donations for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk again this year. I live in a very small area and it is pretty poor too. I need good ideas on how to shake a little money out of people to help raise money for the cause. I have a very bussy schedule already so cant do things like mow lawns or baby sit but I really need help with ideas.
One year I did a walk for Leukemia and I had the same problem. I was so busy with work, school and training that fundraising seemed like yet another daunting task on my list. I did a few things. The one that yielded the most money in the end was coin jars. Ask around at local businesses if you can place a can or glass jar with a lid and your picture taped to it (make sure it explains your cause as well) near the front of the register. You will be surprised how many people just throw their change in there! I even got a $100 bill in mine with a note that said the donor's brother died of Leukemia. If all else fails there are some great cookie dough fundraisers that give you about 80% of the profit. Good Luck!
