Some of these suggestion are free and some will cost a little money. But there is no free lunch.
Get 1000 business cards printed with your webpage listed and your contact information. Keep the card professional looking.
Make a mailing list of 100 people you know with their addresses. You do know that many if you really think about. Send them a notice about your business and include 5 cards. Ask them if they would help you by handing the cards out for you.
Send out press releases with the information about your new business venture to your local newspaper.
Do something with your business for your local community and get it published.
Join local area related business organizations to network. Attend and participate in events in you locale.
Hand out a minimum of 5 business cards a day to prospects. Don’t waste your cards: qualify prospects by asking questions related to your business or ask if they use the Internet.
When you send out any correspondence include a business card.
Link to others and exchange links.
Buy selected (pay per hit) advertisement on the Internet. You bid on key words.
Check out running an ad via your local cable company.
Take out a small ad in your local newspaper and run it every week.
Get listed in the yellow pages of your phone book.
Submit Your Website to the Top 20 Search Engines for FREE. But only once a month, otherwise you could be accused of spamming.
