ask current clients to refer you to friends and family who need babysitters.
here's a big one: when you see the woman down the street walk by with her baby in a stroller, hand her your card and introduce yourself. i would be more likely to hire someone if i saw them and not just a flyer. |

Who are you? How many people know you in your community? What church, club, gym, school do you have contact with. Have you tried putting a flyer up at the Laundromat? Gym? Church bulletin board? Do you have licenses?
Have you checked to make sure that your name is not on Megan List?
My son-in-law had a business for years in a small town, and several of this customer dropped this service. He thought at first that there was a new business in town. There was another person with the same name, and the word got out and they thought that it was him until someone pulled up the ad and saw that the person was of another race.
Have an open house and invite the neighbor to come over and check out your place. |

Partner with businesses that cater to parents with young children. Flyers are a great, inexpensive way to promote your business, but they only work if you get them into the hands of potential customers.
Offer to promote local daycare centers to your clients in return for placing your flyers at the daycare centers. Ditto with McDonalds, pediatricians, pre-schools, dentists and any similar businesses.
Most important, if your flyers are not working, then you are not saying the right things on your flyers. Make sure your copy is strong and sells your product. If your flyers are being read by potential customers, and they are not responding, then you need better copy on your flyers. Maybe you need a professional (advertising agency, freelance copywriter) to prepare your stuff.

My Granddaughter found a local Child Care Organization. After she joined it she got more business than she could handle. They hold meetings Mounthly and when one member has an inquiry and doesn't want it she will pass them on to another member.They also exchange ideas and information on child care laws and freebees,etc..If you do not have such a group in your town maybe you should organize one. |
