What are some ethical concerns could arise in marketing a Spalding basketball?
what are some ethical concerns could arise in marketing a Spalding basketball?
For examples like for Tide detergent, it could be predetory pricing or colluding with competitors to eliminate a smaller competitor. Are there unethical labor issues, dumping practices in global markets? Any number of ethical issues.
Well a huge problem with large companies, like Nike is that outsource to third world countries, and pay people there pennies on the dollar, of what they get in turn for selling the ball. In addition those workers are usually young children, which brings up ethics. First off should Children be allowed to work, basically insuring that they don't go to school?
However, Spalding is notoriously outspoken for not using child laborers. For the most part I would say possibly covertly talking with competitors to eliminate smaller rivals. Think of the brands of basketballs, Spalding (#1 by far) Wilson, and Nike. Three huge brands.

Well since most Spalding basketballs are made from the flesh of Laosian infants and sewn together in Philipino sweatshops, I would say you are opening Pandora's Box here.
