I want to reach as many people as possible and be effective in my advertising. I need tips from people who have cost-effective yet good ideas that will produce results.

1. Define your target segment. As narrow as possible.
2. Select the magazine they read.
3. Create a sales flyer vs branding or general awareness.
4. Talk to to the comapany
5. Insert the flyer into every magazine.

This way, you are targeting direct to your defined customer. Just makes sure your flyer has a great sales proposition.

Market development
Remember you are just now trying to "create a market". Consider it an investment.

Market penetration
After you have crafted a market for yourself, then you can start "milking" it .

note? what type of business and where will depend on your marketing campaign. suggest you do 'sweat equity' not just throw money at marketing like newspapers, yellow pages etc.

Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index.
