The good keywords for your site are those words and phrases that you actually use on your site. If you put in your metatags keywords that your site is not using but simply for the heck of it, you can be viewed by the search engines for spamming.
SEO Tool Book has a tool that allows you to find out the best keywords for your site based on keyword density (how many times the word or phrase is used on the page) http://tools.seobook.com/general/keyword-density/
I went to your site and --- HOLY COW! -- you are stuffing keywords. Remove that box with nothing but repetitive worthless keywords as that can lead the search engines to ban your site for spamming. Keyword stuffing is one of the #1 ways to get your site banned by the search engines. Write decent CONTENT in that box by describing what your site is all about.
Keyword stuffing is BAD -- repeat after me, KEYWORD STUFFING IS BAD. Describe what your site is all about, what you sell, but never ever string keywords and repeat them over and over again |

I agree with the other forum member that "KEYWORD STUFFING IS BAD!" You risk someone [your competitor] placing you website on a spamreport at Google and Yahoo search engines. And your website can be removed altogether and very quickly from their search directories! Especially blatant is the phrase "Russell James Jeans," along with even more spamdexing entries as listed below:
Before: <title>BuyAndSellJeans.com - Cheap Designer Jeans, Discount Designer Jeans!</title>
After [leaving out the domain name which is not a recognized major brand]: <title>Buy Sell Cheap Discounted Designer Jeans!</title>
Before: <META name="description" content="Buy And Sell Used JEANS is the only website that allows you to easily sell and buy quality jeans at low prices quickly and easily. Sell your old jeans. Earn some extra money. Free up some of your closet space.... for some more jeans!">
After [omitting secondary sentences since you are allowed only a single description sentence which in turn, is limited to no more than 20-25 words]:
<META name="description" content="Buy and Sell Used JEANS at low prices only on this website that allows you to easily sell and buy quality jeans!">
Before: <META name="keywords" content="designer jeans, bootcut jeans, blue jeans, Seven Jeans, Citizen Jeans, True Religion Jeans, blue jeans, women jeans, Levi Strauss, sell jeans, buy jeans, used jeans, cheap jeans, discount jeans, wholesale jeans, cheap designer jeans, designer jeans for cheap, discount designer jeans">
After [deleting duplicative entries]: <META name="keywords" content="designer, bootcut, blue, Seven, Citizen, True Religion, women, Levi Strauss, sell, buy, used, cheap, discount, wholesale">
Hopefully you will take these recommendations to heart as well as the other responses from forum members to properly metatag your opening webpage. Failing to do so, may warrant your website being removed from search engine consideration. You do not want that to happen!
Good luck! |
