There are several barriers to communication:
Sender Breakdown- too much information being sent, or technical language used.
Method Breakdown- the wrong method of communication may be used, when talking over the phone instructions may be misinterpreted.
Recipient Breakdown- the recipient may deliberately misinterpret the message to avoid doing something they do not wish to do.
Also, if there is a long chain of command the communication may break down. |

Self-talk. Some people spend so much time listening to themeselves, that they have developed poor listening skills.
You have two ears and one mouth, so they should be used in that proportion. |

The first barrier is inability to listen to someone else while he is speaking. Even before we have heard another person, we want to interrupt and have our say. In my opinion, this is the first barrier and the biggest. Anyone who is capable of overcoming this barrier, becomes the leader. |

Human: language, culture, ideologies & generation gap, Much talking Little listening, mutliperson listening chain, physical/mental handicaps |
