Sell products that people actually want.
Selling on eBay is not as easy as some portray. In fact, go to eBay and check out the number of auctions that end without a single bid. Competition is getting tough, as more sellers go to eBay; even the big boys are joining in the eBay marketplace. Add to that the increasing listing and final value fees.
eBay has several ways for you to determine exactly what the hot items to sell on their marketplace:
Items In Demand = the most popular items currently within that particular category. To see the In Demand page, go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/sellbycategory.html
Hot Items by Category Report = a monthly report that lists the fastest growing categories on eBay for the previous month. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/whatshot.html and select "Hot Items by Category" from the menu on the left.
eBay Pulse = "a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks, and cool stuff on eBay". Go to http://pulse.ebay.com/ to see eBay Pulse in action.
Merchandising Calendar = eBay promotes specific categories on its home page each month. Savvy eBayers know that this home page exposure results in more interest in such categories. Go to http://pages.ebay.com/sellercentral/calendar.html to view the current Merchandising Calendar. |

many do that yes.
But why have them ship to you..then you have to ship..
rather find a product-sell for that company and let them pack-handled and ship...you just sell-keep percentage of profit and send company their share. Makes more money cause they don't have to pay to ship to you and then you have to pay (handle ect) to ship to buyer.. profits wasted in shipping twice. This also puts responsibilty on company for any damages and losses in shipping..
you aren't to blame...
just advertise and wait for payments. no mess no fuss.
good luck. |

Once I sold a table and got $350.00.
Shipping it was a real pain in the butt and cost $120.00.
Stick to small stuff.
...and when you find a company that will warehouse the product and ship it then share the profits with you.....please let me know, I want a ride on that money train too. |

No offense, but if you want my opinion Ebay is not the place to set up shop anymore. Yeah, it used to be great, but the marketplace is way to saturated with the companies that are able to sell at rock bottom prices. It is very hard for individual sellers to compete against these companies. Unless you are selling a unique item maybe out of your home, it's hard to even get a bid for a good price on things. Ebay is no longer a sellers market, rather a buyers, because things go for so cheap on there. Add on Ebay listing fees and final value fee charges, and you're asking for trouble.
You are much better off trying to find something/some product that interests you and set up your own website and generate traffic to there instead for business purposes. Hope this helps. Selling on Ebay is not impossible, but much more work then you realize if you don't want to be in the red. |
