This website is great for web advertising. It's a free targeted advertising (based on you selecting various categories you would like to be included in) and link exchange network. You put other websites text ads on your page and yours appears on others. And it really is 100% free, forever. While it's not something that guarantees traffic it also doesn't cost anything, so why not try it?

When I had a world-wide flower business starting in 1996, I went to newsgroups and posted there. You are allowed at the bottom of your postings, to put your business info with a link to your site.
When I built my site, I spent a lot of time researching "tags". If you don't know what that means, ask your webmaster or designer. It's very important to have the right tags to lead to your website.
Another thing that is very, and I can't express this enough, important is that your site be as simple as possible and as fast loading as possible. Make it so that if it was a site you went to, you wouldn't get tired of waiting for it to load or have to wade through so much type to find what your after that you just want to hit the back button and try somewhere else.
When someone builds a site they are being 'creative". But creative isn't what you need here. So don't let your creative side dictate the contents.
Just make it look nice and classy, not flashy and frivolous.
I had to fight all the time with my web guy to make mine simple. That was the early days though and so much has changed.
Later, in 2000, I spent $500 per month for a pop-up ad on
Superpages.GTE.com (now superpages.com).
I built up my business and sent and received floral orders from everywhere in the world until I sold it in 2003.
I miss it now, but needed to retire, so here I am answering questions at 1 am. I love this too. |

Pay per click is great way to easily get traffic but could cost you if done wrong, the other is search engine optimization which obviously costs nothing but is a skill that every website owner needs to understand.
