What are the best ways to get your website listed on Google?
The 'webmasters' cant even seem to do it. Im trying to get my site recognised by google, Ive submitted it, got the right tags, got about 115 links(enough?) but no luck. any techie tips that I could work with specific to Google and its requirements/algorithms etc?? love to hear of anybody elses experiences or anyone who is nicely listed there, let me know! thanks!
Build inbound links to your website.
Most of the directories online charge a one time fee to review your site and add it to their index. Here are three of my favorites:

The more inbound links to your site, the better you will rank
with Yahoo / Google / MSN.
If your site is very new, give it a little time.

It can take up to 6weeks . Or you can submit articles to top rank site ( ezine articles is one ) and when google crawls it will detect you page and will lists it within 48 hrs. Also you can use adwords , but this isnt free. You can set a budget.

How long have you waited after submitting it to google? I think it took me about a month before mine was recognized by google, and I put in at least 15 requests

do a search on shop eweb. do it on yahoo too. the site is less than 2 months old and climbing the ladder. up to 700 hits per day and over 6K clicks. Not the right hits or clicks yet but they will come. yahoo is based on google's engine. It's a combination of meta tags, submission, and links scattered around the Internet as much as you can get them. Free ad spots and blasters don't sell anything but they do get your links posted all over the place which gets the search engines' attention. about 2M links. go to http://ewebsmith.com for some free ad spots. the others will find you. use a junk email box.

You can try the AdWords function that Google sells, but it very expensive and a little bit of pain to manage and Google is currently in court because of click fraud (they said there were more click throughs to websites than there actually were). But even Harris InfoSource and ThomasRegistry aren't well marketed and extremely expensive.
