Interrupt them. Ask them what company the work for. Ask for their supervisor. Tell the supervisor that you want them to put you on the "Do Not Call List". By law, they HAVE to. Remind them that if you receive another call by anyone in that company, it is an automatic $25.00 fine plus court costs for each call made from that point on. Keep a record of what company calls and when. If they continue to call, take them to court. You get the $25.00 per incident and they pay all other costs.
Tell them that you were sleeping and you don't appreciate being rudely awaken. Hang up quickly. |

There was this thing on the news where you can call and get your name off the telemarketers list of people they can call. Then if they do call you they get in trouble for calling you.
https://www.donotcall.gov/
That's the link it tells you where to sign up...its the national don't call list.

You can register your number on the do not call list www.donotcall.gov I don't know if they are still available, but at one time you could buy "telezappers" that zap your number out of an auto-dialers system. The phone rings only once or twice, and then the system disconnects the call. if it is a local call or not for profit agency, then kindly ask them to remove you from their list. |

I am on a "do not call" list. I'm not sure if it is just my state (PA) or if it's national. |

For the coming weeks, unplug the phone when you are going to sleep.
If you get a call, just tell the call "do not call this number again."
For longer term, put your number in the national Do Not Call Registrry: https://www.donotcall.gov/ |

Have you registered your phone number on the "do not call" list? Go to www.donotcall.gov. and register your home and cell phone numbers. This should stop most of those pesky calls. Registration is good for five years. |

Get all the information that you can about the company that is calling you, then tell them to put you on their 'do not call' list - the next time they call you can report them and get up to $500 per infraction. There are people who make a living at this. |
