What company or product advertising is good to write about?

I either need to follow it's ads from the past and compare and contrast on what models they used and why and who they use nowadays and why etc. It has to be print ads. We're allowed to compare and contrast with another product of its kind too. Its up to us. What do you reckon? any ideas? thanks.

I'd look at pharmaceutical companies. They have gotten much better in the past 5 years, or so. They really started to identify the needs/concerns of the consumer. Take the Lamisil ads: gross, in general, but perfect for their target consumer. With pharma companies, there is also the added aspect of marketing a product that consumers cannot readily purchase - (without a perscription).

Drask

Another interesting company to follow the ad trends on is McDonalds. They went from advertising (across all platforms) their food/fun product. If you look at almost any of the ads now, they ignore the food and focus on health and activity.

They've stopped selling food as their product and have instead focused on the brand to pull people into their restaurants. The food is an afterthought.

A time-line comparing the way their print ads have evolved and distinguishing the public/media factors that contributed to that evolution would be an interesting read/write.

There are plenty of case studies about Nestle although they only got rid of a load of brands a few years ago so you might not be able to track very far back except with Nestle's Milk.
