Value for money. The more I see a brand advertised, particularly by big name stars the less likely I am to buy it.
If I wanted a good congnac I'd ask the advice of a wine merchant. I would never ask the advice of a white goods salesman because I suspect that what they recommend is the product that pays the highest commission!
Adverts like the ones for phones 4 you put me off. As far as I can see they are asking you to buy from a company that exploits imbeciles.
To you remember the Embassy Regal ads? My name is reg I buy regal because my name is in it.
All I could read from that was Regal is the fag smoked by complete morons!!
Sad to say the majority of adverts are more likely to put me off a brand than encourage me to buy it.
The only thing that would encourage me to buy a branded product would be the recommendation of a close friend whose judgement I trusted. |

I will buy a brand that costs more if I know that it is/does better. Why buy a cheaper brand of something and it doesn't give you the results you want/taste.etc. I willl ONLY buy campbells soups- even for cooking- because I can taste the difference. Some off brands can be just as good as name brands- and I will buy them. But quality is my key. If I have to buy the more expensive to get that result- then I do.
Yeah- the fancy ads and catchy tunes may get your attention. But if/when you buy it and it doesn't live up to your expectations then you are wasting money and time- usually because you have to go buy the brand that you DO like and do whatever over. |

if I know that it will be reliable - ie I only buy Miele white goods now after years of buying cheap! False economy.
If it is food then taste works - cheap cola tastes just that, or toilet rolls etc.
As for my clothes though I refuse to buy branded goods (ie free advertising for whatever co it is) I shop for comfort & fashion but not at an extortianate cost - the poor people that make those items (especially designer) don't get the wages for what they charge for it. |
