They have always seemed stupid to me.
You can always rent something for less and choose your time. Why pay extra and be locked into a particular time every year?
I don't see the sense of it myself. I don't understand how they are able to sell any of them at all. Are there some people so lazy that they don't want to vacation in different areas and at different times every year?

Timeshares are really nice - so long as you have too much money and need something to spend it on because they are EXTREMELY expensive most of the time - I used to work for a timeshare company and the salesman are trained like a car salesperson - only worse! As long as you are with a good company though, they are very convenient and definitely part of a semi-luxury lifestyle!

Time share apartments can be a great way to holiday.
But of primary importance is to ensure the apartment you part-own is where YOU can holiday. Which means the place should (a) meet your standards, (b) be in a place where the activities match your interests and (c) be financially viable to you.
Check the location and pricing before you buy into the place. Remember the adage: caveat emptor (buyer beware!!)

Absolutely NOT worth it.
You don't want to have to schedule your vacation around someone elses.
Want to go for the summer? Guess what? So does everyone else.
