I believe the most important thing is to know what content to put on your website because it matters whether it will attract a lot of visitors or not. If it attracts a lot of visitors, then you'll have the opportunity to set up ad banners and earn some extra income. And if you provide free internet stuffs - news, programs, wallpapers, etc that attract a lot of people, and you update them frequently, your website will be popular. Then business opportunity will come knocking on your door.

Other than that, you can design your website simply by using HTML program like MS Frontpage, for example. And learn a lot about Internet e-commerce.

The first point you should know is how to register a domain name. There are probably thousands of registrars out there and whichever one you choose, stick with it. A host and a registrar may not be the same. A registrar simply keeps your domain name while your host is where you upload your files and your website is hosted. The domain name is pointed to your host (server) so whoever types your domain in the browser is shown what you uploaded in your host (website). Most hosts provide complete help for new users, so find a good host and ask for help if you donâ€™t understand something.

Finding a host is easy, but finding a good one requires some effort. What you should look for is bandwidth (how much you require to transfer) and disk space. Prices vary greatly, but I recommend for the first-time user to get something in the 5-15 dollar per month range. If you register mydomain.net and people talk about it, a good percentage of the users will go to your competition, that is, mydomain.com.
Things to avoid:
1.Never register a domain name with a spelling mistake unless you do it purposely
2.Donâ€™t register a hard-to-pronounce name be as simple as your topic or theme allows you.
3.Avoid words that can be misinterpreted such as 2, too, 4, four, u, you, etc. Bad domain names: good4you.com, too2me.com, buy4u.com, etc. My advice is to avoid numbers if possible.
Things to do:
1.Register easy-to-remember names that are easier for people to remember.
2.Combine words that are pronounceable and yet deliver a good mental image
3.A short domain name is always good. Eight words or less are good.
