I think in eBay, there is no dominant product that people prefer to buy.
See, if you post a product for sale.... then it must be salable. You would not post a product that you, yourself believe no one's gonna buy. Right?
I believe you can do something better on your eBay posts like, give enough details; give a valid and complete contact details; have an easy mode of payment; upload actual pictures of the product; tell the truth about the product condition (slightly used, with minor damage...and so on....);and make sure you deliver.
The above mentioned may actually help you gather nice feedbacks. Feedback usually happens on your first sale. It is common that a happy buyer will give you feedback after a purchase.
That will start it all. Remember, the objective is to promote trust. If the community trusted you.... selling wont be much of the problem.
Addition, price your product right.
BTW, you might also wanna consider the season... sometimes products are seasonal like for example, December is good on selling small items for gifts.
I am not saying that what i say is completely right. I just hope I gave you some useful details. |

It's hard to say what items people mostly look for.
There would be as many answers as there are items on eBay.
I've been a member of eBay for 10 years now. Both as a buyer and a seller.
What I've noticed lately at eBay as a seller is, there are SO many people offering the same thing, it's difficult to sell there anymore.
Problem with eBay is they charge listing fees you pay even if your item does not sell.
I truly believe eBay makes more money from auctions that end with no bidders than they do from successful auctions.
I'm not sure what you mean about people buying "letters".
As for food, there are some restrictions ... for the most part unless you have a license to sell food, it's probably illegal. License issues are mentioned on this page.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/food.html
It is also difficult to start off with no feedback. You may want to buy a few items you need and at least get some feedback established then venture into selling.
Do some research if you do sell, check "completed auctions" for items you may sell to see how they've done.
But again, it is tough because it's a matter of the right person being at eBay looking for the item you happen to be selling at that time.
Good Luck! |

Well, Most people look for collectables, like sports cards, figureines, purfume, car stuff, books. You should not try to sell food, people are not going to buy it. The best way to get your points is to buy a few items then make sure you pay fast! You well get great feedback, then people will buy from you. Also, if you make stuff like crafts, beaded jelwery, etc. That might be a seller. And most important accept pay pal. Most people will not buy if you do not accept pay pal. Hope this helps and good luck e-baying! |

people like to buy things that make them feel good about themselves....when they buy it may be seasonal....so selling things on e-bay is about getting experience and learning what works and what has not worked...study other peoples products and how they present it |

a lot of peolle buy random junk, i've seen pieces of toast sell for hundreds of dollars, but i guess what i would buy is something that will mean a lot to me, there are lots of things that people like to collect, maybe you can find something that you want to give away for a little extra money to someone who wants it |
