Depends. Most days I just say I'm not interested and hang up the phone. This one company called Adirondack Deck Company keeps calling us, even though we asked them to take us off of their list. When they call, I just echo them until the person on the other end hangs up. |

I tell them that the person that they are looking for is in Madagascar, or tell them that the person they are looking for is taking a poop. Works like a charm =] |

I tell them I'm on the Do Not Call list (which I am) and I will be reporting them.
Or the rules of the List state that people I do business with are still allowed to call. I tell those people if they ever call again I will cancel all business with them.

i try to keep the phone call going as long as it can, before refusing their claims...it their phone call, and their wasting my time, so i may as well waste their money hehe
oh and sometimes i pretend that im a telemarketer on my side of the call and start asking them questions to piss them off |

I always think-ok fine...after all they are doing there job, like we are doing right now. Now it has become a habit of attending such calls. |

I usually keep repeating that I'm not interested until they get the point. I try not to be rude to them.....because if they had better luck or a choice, they wouldn't be doing a crappy job like that.

Entertain them while theyre on the phone. And in the middle of their spiel, just hang up. They cant get angry or anything cause they get it all the time. In the end, you save your hard earned money and they dont make some phony sale. :-D |

I made a fake yawn and said "no he's not" then slamed the phone back to it's reciever |

They will always say yes...
"I'm 15 years old"
Then they will ask to speak with the homeowner
"This is a boarding school"
They can't do anything ielse and will let you go.
Now, I used to do that...now I just say "Not interested" and hang up. |

i hang up but you can also just say that you are not interested and that you already have what they are offering if you would like to be kind. they expect hang ups. so it is not rude. you can just let go of the call |
