Its an excellent job. There was an article in the news about it several months ago. Dress professional and pose in a work-like position, possibly near a computer ( or whatever job you are applying for ). If I were hiring i'd like to see who it is i'm calling in for an interview. |

Coming from a management viewpoint, while I understand that photos are considered in poor form, I personally appreciate when photos and promotional materials are included. A picture is worth a thousand words and allows me to delineate between one resume from another. When I am reviewing hundreds of resumes, it is helpful to me when people take the time to stand out. Time is only going to allow me to personally interview so many. |

Companies can not legally hire you based on how you look. You will be called for an interview based on your experience and what benefits you will bring to their company. Not what you look like, unless it is the type of job that requires a certain look or body type. If it is not this type of job, emphasize on your education and work experience. |

I would say Yes, but the style of photo would dictate whether it is appropriate or not for any particular job.
If she were applying for the hostess job at a gentleman's club then O.K. a pic of her in an evening gown with a foo - foo hair style would work.
If she's going for a camp counselor for a kid's summer camp then she should have a pic dressed like the crocodile hunter leading a small group in the wilderness.
A Secretary, then her dressed professionally at a desk with a computer. I'd stay away from glamour head shot photo's with the fuzzy background unless she wants to be a model.
We are visual creatures and with a well chosen picture an applicant will be remembered over a black & white piece of paper. Doesn't mean she'll get the job but it is an edge. |
