You can put your name on the Do Not Call Registry, and it should help. But that registry is only for 1 year, and you have ot reregister. It will not prevent people who call because they found your name in a phone book or they purchased your information from a compnay you do business with (Visa for example). It only guards against direct dialers who just dial numbers at random.
But you have given out your information way too often if you have telemarketers calling you every day. Call all your credit card companies and make sure that your information is private and not to be shared with third parties.
I also shut off my home phone and switched to solely using a cellular phone and I NEVER get telemarketers calling me.

I will try to answer properly because I used to work as telemarketer before and I know the pressure they are facing.
The need to meet their weekly / monthly target.
A lot of meeting and screwing session will be held if target not met.

Just Google "Do Not Call Registry" and you can have your name put on a list that fines every company who calls your home. You won't get called anymore.
