"Track your rivals then eat their lunch" is their motto. They will give you some good info for free, but the really juicy stuff you have to pay for.

Here you can get daily unique visitor information, but google usually only shows data for the more popular websites. I'm sure they will start to include more data/websites as time goes on.

There is no accurate way to find out traffic information unless you are looking at the analytics.
Google trends is the only somewhat accurate tool, and they do not give numbers only where the traffic is now relative to then.
There are a few sites out there that claim to give you an accurate account of a website, some that even give you an estimated $ worth of the site. Do not trust them, I entered in one of my advertsing websites that nets a little over 100,000 a year just in advertising and it claimed the total worth of the site was $3000. ;)
