If the store carries food and similar products(napkins, cigs, etc.), it's called a supermarket. If it carries, books, electronics, clothes and that type of thing, it's called a department store. If it has a bunch of different stores inside of it, it's called a mall. If it sells pretty much everything but sells it all in bulk, then it's called a warehouse store. Then you have Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart and other such stores, which really don't have a name per se. Wal-Mart calls itself a "Supercenter", while Fred Meyer uses the term "Multi-Department Store." Unfortunately, there really isn't a single term to use. Sorry. |
