It sounds like you're a beginner, so you might want to start by just commenting on blogs and forums, and including your website link.
If you find a few very popular blogs and follow them regularly, start commenting on the posts with valuable feedback. They all include a place to enter your URL when you comment so you can begin to get incoming links that way. Just make sure you don't spam or you'll get blocked (and look bad, too). Take a few minutes each day to do this and it will also help build your incoming links.
The same with forums. Find a few forums where you can begin networking. Answer questions with valuable help and include your link.
I'd recommend doing this no more than five minutes each day, while investing more time learning more advanced marketing techniques. |

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies). One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals. These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.
My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info. I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)
