What is the best way to drive traffic to your sight free.?

i have a coulple of sites i'm reffering products and i dont get losts of traffic. classified ads seem to work best. i have summited my sites to directories. does anyone have any tips or tricks to help.

which directories have you submitted to? dmoz is advisable if you want to rank well with google.
Keep your page titles relevant (65 characters max.)
Don't duplicate too much content over pages.
Use the correct redirect system 301/501 etc and pump up your links from external related sites.
