There is no one way that is the best way for every business. It depends on your business, target market, and the ability of your market to buy your products, services or information.
Without knowing what your business is, it's difficult to give any particular suggestion. However, no matter what your business or offer is... you need to find out where your target market is going online, what thery're looking for or their problems, and offer them a solution.
As far as what is best... it's what works best for your particular business and target market. Writing and submitting articles that inform your target market is always a good thing, no matter what you offer. Then guide them to your web site for more information, or solutions.

One of the best ways to increase business is to write articles. At the end of each article include a resource box with your name and what you do and end with your Website/blog address.
