DO NOT ADVERTISE IN THOSE BOOKS !!
They are a collossal waste of money.
You do need to be listed in there, once in your main category, and also in the alphabetical white pages.
Spending hundreds per month to have an actual advertisement in the book is the exact same as flushing the money down the toilet.
Those books are closed 99.9% of the time...and that is a real statistic. ...and research companies have found that 76% of adults havn't looked in the book in the last 30 days.
The salespeople for those books are very highly trained and persuasive, but nearly everything that comes out of their mouth is false information, twisted to favor their point of view.
Use the money you would have spent in those books, on Direct Mail, Radio and TV. These mediums will give you daily, and weekly exposure...allow you to get your name in th eminds of your consumers. If your customers have to look in the yellow pages...then your marketing has failed. |

The yellow book is normally seen as a knock-off of the yellow pages. It's been my experience that people will use the yellow pages and usually trash the yellow book, as it's usually seen as useless. Each to his own, however.
If you decide to advertise in it, be sure to test or question your phone calls to determine which book brought in the call. That way you'll know what to do the next year. |

do NOT advertise online with AT&T yellow book. I did it one year, and have spent three years and numberous phone calls trying to get them to stop, but they keep running the add (which isn't helping me at all) and trying to charge me for it.
I've had NOTHING but grief from AT&T no matter what service I've used. |

I am very familiar with Yellow Book - it is a company that creates phone books for regions. They have nothign to do with any phone company. I cannot tell you good or bad but my mother has worked for them for over 20 years. I know other family members that advertise with and have no issues but advertising is advertising - like a necessary evil! Yellow Book started out as a small NY company and has branched across the US. I personally think it is a more convienent book - cause it is smaller then the 10 pound books you get from the phone company. |

I have used YellowBook and have recived great customers from it. They are a lot less expensive than the att yellow pages. Go with YellowBook not yellow pages. |
