in marketing basis kindly differentiate service and goods.. thks |

A service is an intangible act while goods are physical. Services are often jobs or work that contribute to an overall goal. Goods are items such as chairs or cars. |

Essentially, they are one in the same. However, the tangibility of the item is the biggest determinant.
For example, you go to Best Buy to purchase PRODUCTS such as televisions, laptops, cameras, and DVDs.
However, you can also go to Best Buy to enlist the SERVICE of the company's Geek Squad to come and set up electronics in your home.
Hope this helps! |

sevice: providing people with goods,food.etc. e.g. Kmart
goods: things can sell and buy. e.g. car. |

Goods are actual physical items (but can be in a digital format eg. ebooks, mp3 etc are still goods). Services are just that, services provided (things that are done) by a person or entity. |

A good or commodity in economics is any object or service that increases utility, directly or indirectly, not to be confused with good in a moral or ethical sense. A good that cannot be used by consumers directly, such as an office building or capital equipment, can also be referred to as a good as an indirect source of utility through resale value or as a source of income. A 'good' in economic usage does not imply moral acceptance or even legality.
A service is the non-material equivalent of a good. A service provision is an economic activity that does not result in ownership, and this is what differentiates it from providing physical goods. It is claimed to be a process that creates benefits by facilitating either a change in customers, a change in their physical possessions, or a change in their intangible assets. |
