I think 20% will get me. I don't know why. I think I just have some subconscious thing about numbers. I guess when you think about it, 20% really ain't much, but that'll get me quicker than when I think, "Oh, wow, a whole $5 off...BIG savings (blah)." Unless I stop & look at the differences in products & prices. Sometimes there's a trick to the numbers. Like when I was runnin the biz last year, my marketing scheme included things like, "originally valued at $___.__, for a savings of over __%," OR "Save over $50.00 NOW!"
It totally depends on what you're selling, I think, now that I think about it :-) |

The 20% off... a lot of people can't do percents so they don't see the actual amount. Seeing $24.99 now $20 says big whoops, I'll save almost $5. But the percentage, is like wow I'm saving 20%! |

i like 20% for a cheap item like this.
if it was a more expensive item i would go with how much you save though. I work in a retail store part time, and they have store credit cards and I've found that if someone has like a $200 purchase i get them to sign up easier by saying "Would you like to apply for our credit card and get about $20 off today's purchase" than saying "Would you like to save 10%"
spot: not everyone does the math though- people are bombarded with sales and advertising all the time. its better to say something that means to them, like a dollar value so it "clicks" in their head |

I would still say the 20%, it is also nice to give a dollar amount of, mainly 2 digits. Such at "$10 Off." and give a time frame, TODAY ONLY! |
