for instance, you were dealing with a customer, then they already seen the price but now when you start doing the quote for the customer, and notice that the price was wrong (higher),
would you sell it by price that they have already seen or would you tell them the correct price and sell it with that price? |

Give it to them for the lower advertised price. You make a customer happy, they come back to you and recommend you to others. If you don't give them that break, you'll never see them again, and sooner or later you'll begin to hear the negative rumors about your company. |

If it was legit marked wrong I would sell them one at the price marked, as long as a reasonable customer would interpret that as the correct price.
For example: No reasonable customer would expect to buy say a plasma big screen TV for $59, so they would assume that it was marked wrong, and should not be given the lower price. |

You can choose between telling them you made a mistake and potentially having them think you were baiting and switching or you can tell them and eat the cost yourself. Depends on how much you want the sale. |

I would sell it at the correct price with an explanation in the quote so the customer understands the difference. The problem with honoring the mistake is that the customer may order more and expect the same price or tell others about the deal and you'll eventually have to make the correction. |

Well, when I worked at Pamida, they said it was illegal to charge them something other than the price marked. So even if we knew it was wrong, we had to sell it to them.
But, when I worked at Family Dollar, people were always switching tags and prices, so we knew how much things were, and we would just tell them that someone must have switched the tags, and we cannot sell it to them for that price.
It all depends on your business, and the customers. If they are regular customers, you wouldn't want to lose them, so I would suggest selling it to them anyways, but if they are new, and you know that it is priced wrong, kindly explain to them that there has been a mistake, and offer something else of equal or lesser value. |
