Whay is it important that you present a professional image to your customer?

Well it is very important to reflect professional image because of :-
1) Returning business : Cusotmer should be satisfied that you are a real professional and would be helpful in case of any requirement.
2) WOM (word of mouth) : If a customer is satisfied he will definitely refer your name to his friends and relatives. This help in growing your network inturn your business.

would you trust someone who looked well groomed, or someone who appeared to have been rolled in mud more with business issues?

Your customer is spending or trusting you with his/ her 'hard-earned' money and they would definitely prefer to do business with a person who appears responsible and aware of what they are doing in life i.e a professional.

2, smile and be friendly
3, dress smart with a clean cut look
4, shake hands n introduce yourself
4, make that customer remember you as friendly n genuine
5, i guarantee they will come back and introduce loads more customers to you

Attention to professional image shows attention to detail and respect for your clients. Its says you are trying your best and put effort into the things you do. This will translate over into the job you are doing for them. If you go to someone for professional help (no matter what the job) and they look like they just rolled out of bed in yesterdays clothes and forgot the meaning of showering it doesn't bode well for the client having lots of faith in you. This has nothing to do with money or designer clothes. It means you shower and groom yourself, wear clean unwrinkled clothing that compliments your particular body type and put your best food forward.

It's a dying art in this world. I'm sick to death of getting help from a girl at a store only to have her bend over and show me her thong. I'm about to start taking my scissors to their exposed strings and rid the world of "up above my pants thong-itis"!

Well, think about the ramifications of NOT presenting a professional image to your customer. You lose credibility, your customer will continue shopping around, and you will get a reputation that is more negative than positive.
