I would advertise first. Get the name out there. Product recognition is key. Then when your customer sees your product in the store, they will say to themselves, "oh, here is that detergent I've been hearing about. I think I'll try it".

you shouldn't do any advertising for detergents. just sell it to the supermarkets at the lowest cost. when it comes to detergents people either buy Tide or something cheap, so go for being a good value because you're not going to build a brand stronger than Tide. |

You should start the ad campaign when you have pipefilled the product in the trade. Otherwise, when consumers come to the store and do not find prduct's visibility, you will lose the chance to sell. We, my co., normally start the ads 2 weeks after trade deployment. Hope it can help! |

Well, all depends on your budget. Big companies often make a pre-launch advertising campaign to create interest in the customer. But if you're a little short of money you can do a very nice launching campaign using hostess or models to present the product to the customers once they are in the supermarket, more like a promotional campaign... and then get some advertising when you get profits. Is all about the budget. |

Your main focus is funding. It's quite a vicious cycle, advertising. I'd say start off with low-budget ads, and then, if sales improve, then you can slowly work your way up more expensive and attractive ways of advertising. The easiest way is to post flyers at stores taht you'll be selling the detergent at. Also, free ads in newspapers could help as well. |

That's an easy answer... you should definitely advertise you products before you introduce them into the market... ads have been proven to attract attention to a product. if you just place it on the shelves of the market then not many people will really notice it... I work with the marketing department and i do believe that your product will sell way faster with ads... Let me know what you decide.. hope i helped. |
